As always, I hit the Magic Convention this August, but I have to say that it was not quite as exciting as it usually is. It seemed very much “toned down” from the last one, which is disappointing because the last two looked as if things were looking up in terms of entertainment and attendance. Not so much this time. Anyhow, I managed to enjoy myself anyway, and found a few things that were worthy of sharing. ~

My favorite booth this time around goes hands down to PZI Jeans! The fabulous Lisa Raye was there representing in FULL EFFECT! Flawless from head to toe, yes, even in person, Lisa was front and center backed by an entourage of beautiful ladies, everyone dressed in all white. I have to compliment Miss Raye on how sweet and nice she was! She really took the time to come out and take pictures and greet everyone, and was quite engaging with the crowd! Everyone at the booth was really warm and friendly. I was so impressed! They really made you want to do business with them even if you don’t sell jeans, lol! Shouts out to Terry Moore and the whole crew at the PZI booth. What a nice group of folks! And ladies, PZI Jeans are worth checking out! Although I think the Lisa Raye collection is sold out, you can check them out here … http://www.pzijeans.com/

So later that night I hit Lisa Raye’s PZI Party at the Foundation Room. What a great time I had, and people, Lisa knows how to party. Once again, front and center, Lisa was taking photos and greeting fans. No sitting off in a corner VIP booth surrounded by 50 body guards…Lisa was out on the dance floor gettin’ her groove on keepin’ the party crunk. I couldn’t stay long, but what a great party! follow –> www.twitter.com/PziJeans www.twitter.com/theRealLRaye

My favorite new line is Gumball 3000 Apparel. If you are not familiar with Gumball 3000, it is an annual 3,000 mile international road rally with a different 3,000 mile route around the world each year. There is no grand prize for this race, though….(GASP!) where is the fun in that, you ask? learn more here –> http://youtu.be/XrXAs47VvN0

The guys at this booth were awesome! They told me the line is doing quite well, better in fact than they anticipated. I love the clean, simple designs and logos. I am sure these guys will be around for a long time, especially with the Gumball 3000 Rally catching on across the nation! visit Gumball 3000 Apparel on fb here! –> http://on.fb.me/r9HG9W

Ok, one more of the rides…..I stopped by the booth all 3 days to look at them lol….and special thanks to Kyle Miller and the rest of the guys at the booth for the Gumball 3000 stickers and keychain! WooHoo! You guys ROCK! follow –> www.twitter.com/GumballApparel

I don’t believe the camera did this artwork any justice. This was absolutely amazing to see in person and by far the most intricate work I have ever seen anyone do at Magic. The artist’s name is Norm, but his work is anything BUT the norm. Norm is an artist and a tattoo artist. His studio, Will Rise Tattoo Studio, is located in Los Angeles, CA. Make sure you visit his website at www.normwillrise.com and check out the artwork and tattoo sections for sure! follow –> www.twitter.com/NormAwr
For those of you who know how much of a pet lover I am, you know I couldn’t pass this booth without stopping when I saw this shirt. This adorable tee is made by a company called Johnny Found. The girl in the booth gave me one and I just love it! They have a couple of other doggy themed tees that pet owners would love, although they are all in the men’s section. They have some really cute tees. You can check them out here –> www.johnnyfound.com On their twitter profile it says “Just a lucky dog, 3 legs, living life to the fullest. Come and follow my adventures. Because everyone deserves a second chance.”, but I did not see anything about him on the website under “Johnny’s Story”. However, there is a small red “x” at the bottom of the page. Perhaps it is supposed to be there? I would love to hear that story! follow –> www.twitter.com/johnnyfound
As I was on my way out, I ran across these little “kits” made by a company called Urban Aid. They sum it up better than I ever could. “Urban Aid creates products for every day life…a little funny, perhaps a bit quirky, but always useful at one point or another.” These awesome kits come with just what you need for normal to not-so-normal situations that life may spring upon you at ANY GIVEN MOMENT! With several handy kits to choose from like the Oops Kit, the Shame On You Kit, the Period Pal, or the One Too Many Kit, one of these is sure to come in handy at some time in your life! Great gift idea! see all of their kits here –> www.urbanaid.com I am so glad I stopped at this booth and a special hello to Karen Barnett! You guys were hilarious! And just an idea for the next convention…a Magic Survival Kit? Packed with pain reliever, and GUM or MINTS lol! follow –> www.twitter.com/urbanaid
